Luca Memorial Photo Contest Worldwide Edition, is the prime concept we will use to remember Luca and the things he loved, while at the same time trying to benefit as many CAVING and CANYONING fans around the world as possible with a fair distribution criteria.

This photo contest is for CAVING or CANYONING sport photos taken during the current year (2020).

The contest runs CONTINUOUSLY at https://contest.lucamemorial.org/ :

–   every 3 months WINNERS are picked (STANDARD ROUND)

–   in ADDITION, there is an ANNUAL FINAL ROUND where all winners and finalists of previous rounds compete for the absolute PHOTO of the YEAR.

Participants can SUBMIT photos or VOTE for photos in each category

–   VOTING: everybody can vote for the photos on the gallery. (at https://contest.lucamemorial.org/ in upper menu ‘Gallery’)

–   SUBMITTING PHOTOS: There are 5 Categories where you can submit photos (at https://contest.lucamemorial.org/ in upper menu ‘Submit’)

There are currently 5 CATEGORIES

– [1] Cave EXPLORATIONS & [2] Canyon EXPLORATIONS

You need to be making a first descent of a Cave/Canyon branch, or document publicly for the first time a known Cave/Canyon route access that was publicly undocumented before.

– [3] Caving MEETINGS & [4] Canyoning MEETINGS

You need to be participating in an official meeting for Caving or Canyoning.

– [5] “W·O·W!” for Caving and Canyoning photos

IF you are not making a new exploration, nor participating in a meeting, BUT you have Caving or Canyoning photos that are amazing, stunning or adventurous and can make a standard audience say “Wow!”, THEN you can submit them in this category.

There are multiple PRIZES. The highest is the PHOTO OF THE YEAR 5000 USD award. There are prizes for:

– PHOTOGRAPHERS who submitted the winning photos

– online VOTERS who voted for the winning photos

– MEETING ORGANIZATIONS where the winning photos were taken.

FREE participation. Beginner photographers and mobile photography are welcome.

STANDARD ROUND PRIZES & MECHANICS

VOTING PHOTOS:

anyone can vote for the photos in the internet gallery. Maximum 3 votes/day.

SUBMITTING PHOTOS: photos can be submitted in any of the 5 categories. Maximum 3 photos/day.

JURY: the Jury will be selected by Luca Memorial. To learn more click here.

PHOTOGRAPHERS: $500, for the winner photo elected by a Jury in each category among all photos with 5 or more internet public votes.

5 winning photographers, unless a category is deserted.

MEETINGS: $3.000 to be shared among the meetings where the winner photos have been taken.

1 or 2 winning meeting organizations, unless a category is deserted.

VOTERS: $200 for a random chosen voter among voters of the winning photo in each category (certificate by Easypromos).

5 winning internet voters, unless a category is deserted.

FINAL ROUND PRIZES & MECHANICS

VOTING PHOTOS: anyone can vote for the photos in the internet gallery. Maximum 15 votes.

PHOTOS: the top 15 photos in each category of each standard round will compete again in a FINAL round for the Photo of the Year winner.

JURY: at least 30%, maximum 50%, of the Jury will be composed by previous voters and photographers. To learn more click here.

PHOTOGRAPHER: $5.000, for the photo of the year elected by a Jury among all photos with 5 or more internet public votes.

VOTER: $500 for a random chosen voter among voters of the absolute winner of the year (certificate by Easypromos).
